Vans

I have been wanting the black and white Classic Slip-On shoes from Vans for a while. When i went on their online store to buy them I just thought I'd look around a little which wasn't the best idea for my wallet because I found another pair that I instantly fell in love with. The Authentic Shoes in (multi floral) black/true white. Since they were 30% off at the time I knew I had to get them as well, so I did.

Today I got the package and I love them, both of them!
I know this is a short post but I just felt like I had to share my (maybe extreme) love for these shoes!

Dry Skin Saviour

My skin can get quite dry in the winter and because of that I was looking for a new moisturiser some weeks ago. I really needed a new one because even though I loved the one I was using (L'Oreal Triple Active Fresh) it wasn't right for my skin type anymore. But I would definitely recommend that one for someone with normal to combination skin. The do make one for dry and sensitive skin too but I haven't tried that one.

I looked around and found a range from Garnier called Moisture Match. That sounded good and they had many different ones for different skin types so I went for the one for dry to very dry skin.

An easy way to describe what I think about it is by saying this: It is amazing! But I'm guessing you want to know a little more about it so here are my thoughts.

First of all I like that it's in a tube. That makes it more hygienic and easier to use. I also like that is it pink because I'm girly like that.

The actual product is a little thicker than other moisturizers I have used, but it is not too thick. Maybe saying that it is a rich cream would describe it better. I think you can feel that it is going to moisturise your skin well when you are working it into the skin.

I had dry patches on my nose before I started using this and they disappeared after only one day of using this. That says something about how good it is.

It is not one that soaks into your skin right away but I kind of like that it doesn't. I want it to moisturise my skin the whole day and I feel this one does that. But even though it doesn't soak into your skin super fast it does not feel greasy or anything like that. I don't think about that I have it on my skin at all.

To be honest I actually don't think I have anything bad to say about it. It works amazingly, has a good packaging and has a nice soft scent. It is perfect for the winter months for my skin!

New Years Eve Glitter Nails

It is New Years Eve in two days which you probably already know and because of that I wanted to show an easy sparkly nail design that I think is perfect. This is something that anyone can do and I got my inspiration to it from this video I saw on FeelUnique's facebook page.

What I did is slightly different. Obviously I used different colours but I also never used a metallic polish on the very tip of the nail as she did in the video.

To get the gradient effect with the glitter I first used a silver glitter and applied it on the tip, then once that had dried and went in with one more layer and went a little further in on the nail and then I went a little further on the nail with a third layer. I wanted all this glitter to blend into my nail more so lastly I used a holographic glitter all over the nail.

Of course you can do this with any base colour and glitter as you would like. I did it with these colours because I wanted something that would look wintery, like when the sun hits the snow and makes it sparkle.

What do you think of these nails?

Gold Party Makeup

It is the 1st of December today for anyone who might have missed that and that means that Christmas parties and cozy Christmas nights with friends and family might start to happen. I had a Christmas night with a few friends last saturday and this is the makeup I wore. I didn't want something too dark with the eyeshadows and I didn't want much happening under the eyes either. I think this is a really wearable look that you could wear both day and night time and you can wear it with any colour lip. A red lip would make it much more Christmassy!

As you can see the colours are not that dark but the winged eyeliner makes the look a bit more dramatic. The eyeshadows are from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and the Urban Decay Vice 2.

  • 1, I used this colour all over the lid up till the eyebrow to make a nice base to work on and to set my primer which was the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
  • 2, I applied this matte brown colour in the crease with a fluffy blending brush.
  • 3 & 4, I mixed there two gold shades and applied it on 2/3 of the lid.
  • 5, Lastly I applied this dark gold/brown shade on the the outer part of the lid and then I blended everything out.

What do you think of this look? How do you like to do your makeup for parties?

Current Base & Eyebrow Routine

I have been using the same products for my base for maybe one or two months now and I really like how they look on my skin. They make a pretty flawless yet natural looking base which I love. It only takes a few minutes to do so for the days when I have spent a little too much time in bed and don't have time to do a full face of makeup this is what I do. I hardly ever change the products I use for my base in order to get ready faster, I just skip the eyemakeup instead. The only time I change my base is when I want something a bit more natural with a bit less coverage.

I don't alway use a primer under my makeup, sometimes I forget, but I prefer to use one. I used the The Body Shop Instablur up until just a couple weeks ago but I can tell my skin is getting dryer now and that one doesn't work for my skin anymore so I gave it to my sister who has more oily skin. The primer I use now, which I have used before and really like when my skin is normal to dry is the Lumene Illuminating and Smoothing Primer. It does what it says and makes foundation goes on nicely even on the slightly dryer patches.

For foundation I'm using the Bourjois Healthy Mix in Light Vanilla. This is a quite dewy foundation that I would say probably works best for people with normal to dry skin but I have seen people with oily skin using it as well so maybe it works for most skin types? It has a medium to full coverage in my opinion and I really like that, especially now when it's getting colder and I can get a bit red on my cheeks as nose.
To apply my foundation I will either use the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge or the E.L.F. Powder Brush. Which one I use depends on how much time I have. It takes longer when I use the sponge but I really like the natural result it gives so I will use it when I have time. The E.L.F. brush is a great buffing type brush for a great price.

Now for concealer I use MAC Pro Longwear in NC15. It has good coverage, lasts for a long time and everyone love it. I usually apply it with my finger and start to blend it and then I will go over to the sponge if I used to for foundation, and if I didn't I use the E.L.F. Blush brush for my concealer.
(I used the sponge for both foundation and concealer in the picture above)

My Powder is also one that many people love. Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent. I do like this powder but it's a bit too matte for me right now so I have to be a bit careful with it or it could look a bit cakey on my skin. I use the Bubbi Powder brush with it which is quite big so that makes it easy to not apply too mush.

That was my skin, now over to eyebrows!

I use the Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown with the Zoeva 317 Winged Liner Brush to fill them in and I just follow their natural shape. Then I have recently started using the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown to set them in place. I like doing that because it gives them more shape in a really natural way.

Have you tried any of these products? What products do you use?

My Favourite Manicure All Year Around

I am someone who usually changes how I do my makeup and what colour I have on my nails depending on the season, but I do have a manicure that I love wearing regardless of the season.

I think these colours suits my skintone both on the winter when I'm pale as a ghost and on the summer when I have somewhat of a tan. I also think these colours go well with any season. The blue is a really nice kind of pastel colour but not really that I think most people would say is a great spring/summer colour. But since it's not too in your face I think it's a great colour for the dark autumn and winter months when you want something to brighten up your life. (Yes, your nail polish will change your whole life!..) The silver ads that something extra and on the summer it reminds me of the sunlight hitting the waves in the water and makes it shine. On the winter it reminds me of the sunlight hitting the snow and makes it sparkle.

Beauty Haul # 1

I don't think any of these products were necessary to buy, but what is necessary can be questioned.
I don't really need a dry shampoo but I want one because I don't like to wash my hair too often. So when I only wash my hair two times a week it is necessary to use dry shampoo sometimes to make my hair look nice instead of greasy.
I don't really need a colour bomb mask thing for my hair but I wasn't completely happy with my hair colour so then I needed something to change it.
Do you see what I mean? I don't really need it but I'm making up a reason that makes it sound like I need it. This is something that I do quite often and it's not always good. I makes me spend money that I maybe shouldn't spend.

But let's not care about the money I shouldn't spend and look at what I bought instead. That's more fun!

Firstly I got a new dry shampoo and I went for my favourite one; Batiste Dry Shampoo Fresh. I like this one because it has a nice fresh sent which I really like when my hair is starting to look and feel a bit greasy. I also gives a bit of volume and texture and even though my hair is dark you can't see the product in my hair once I have massaged it in!

I needed a new eye cream both because I don't really like the one I'm currently using and I'm almost out of it. Eye creams are something that can often be quite expensive but this one has a really reasonable price so I got it even though I haven't heard anything about it before. You are probably wondering what this eye cream is called now, it is the Emma S. Moisturising Eye Gel. The fact that it has a gel consistency, as well as the price, was what made me want to try it.

As I said in the beginning of this post I was not totally happy with my hair colour the last time I dyed it so I got this Revlon Professional Nutri Color Creme in 200. This is a hair mask but with colouring in it that is made to be used to refresh your hair colour. It is not a hair dye and the colour only lasts for one or maybe two washes. I used it when I washed my hair yesterday and I really like it! It still didn't make my hair the purplish shade I want but I like the colour after I used it more than the colour my hair was before, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

I was looking for a nude lip product that I mostly want to use to nude out other lip products I have. Then I thought about the Rimmel Apocalips so I got one in the colour Shooting Star. This is a nude shade that probably suit people with a darker skin colour better if you use it on its own. But it works good for me to nude out other products and that is what I wanted it for anyway.

Lastly we have the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge that I have been wanting to try for so long and now I finally got it! I think it takes a little getting used to for me since I have only used brushes for foundation before but so far I like it.
